Brighter Minds Program Report – SJS Naraina (22nd–27th May) 

The Brighter Minds Program, held at SJS Naraina from May 22nd to 27th, aimed to nurture cognitive development, emotional intelligence, and overall well-being in students of Classes 4 and 5. A group of 13 students embarked on this enriching journey, guided by facilitators Ms. Tajinder Kaur and Ms. Geeta Choudhary. The week-long initiative focused on cultivating self-awareness, mental clarity, creativity, and confidence through a well-structured routine of engaging and purposeful activities. 

Daily Structure and Activities 

  1. Introduction Session
    Each morning began with a short introduction to the day’s focus, reinforcing the objectives and importance of the Brighter Minds Program. Facilitators set a positive tone, encouraging enthusiasm and participation.
  2. Circle Time – Prayer and Self-Acceptance
    A reflective prayer session focusing on self-acceptance followed, helping students begin the day with mindfulness. The emphasis on accepting oneself was positioned as a foundational trait for personal growth and success.
  3. Motivational Presentation (Day 1)
    On the first day, a PowerPoint titled “Key to Success” was presented, featuring powerful quotes to inspire students, such as:
  • “All power is within you; you can do anything and everything.” – Swami Vivekananda 
  • “The true sign of intelligence is not knowledge but imagination.” – Albert Einstein 
  1. Brain Exercises and Energizing Dance
    Over the first two days, students participated in a series of brain exercises that gradually increased in number from 6–7 to 15. From Day 3 onwards, all 15 exercises were practiced daily to reinforce cognitive stimulation. These were followed by energetic dance sessions that blended physical activity with joy and team spirit.
  2. 5. Motivational Videos and Stories
    Each day featured new motivational stories and short videos centered on themes such as leadership, perseverance, teamwork, and positive thinking. Stories from Sandeep Maheshwari and similar inspirational figures captured the students’ attention and helped build life competencies.
  3. 6. Break Time
    A 15-minute break was scheduled each day to allow students to relax and refresh themselves.
  4. Heartfulness Relaxation
    A guided Heartfulness session was conducted to calm and center the students, enabling deeper emotional balance and awareness.
  5. Brighter Minds Music and Blindfold Activity (One-time Session)
    A special session was held once during the program that included:
  • 25 minutes of Brighter Minds Music, offering a calming auditory experience. 
  • A blindfold activity session, where students showed keen interest and enthusiasm. The exercises included identifying balls by color, identifying and reading cards with numbers and words—highlighting the students’ growing sensory focus and confidence. 
  1. Fun and Relaxation Videos
    To end the day on a light-hearted note, a variety of fun videos were shown, including:
  • Charlie Chaplin classics 
  • Maths comedy sketches 
  • Animated clips like Mover and Plane 
  1. Breathing and Eye Exercises
    Under teacher supervision, students practiced breathing techniques and eyeball movement exercises to promote calmness and eye health.
  2. Diary Entry and Reflection
    Each day concluded with students writing in their personal diaries, reflecting on what they learned and the activities they enjoyed the most. This nurtured self-expression and helped track individual progress.
  3. Refreshments
    Nutritious refreshments were provided at the end of each day, ensuring a cheerful conclusion to the sessions.

 

Conclusion 

The Brighter Minds Program at SJS Naraina was a transformative experience for the participating students. Through a thoughtful mix of motivational content, cognitive activities, and wellness practices, the program fostered holistic development. The one-time session of Brighter Minds Music and blindfold activities offered a unique and memorable learning moment, showcasing the students’ potential and responsiveness. The consistent structure, combined with engaging stories and joyful moments, made this week-long program a remarkable success and a stepping stone toward self-growth and confidence for the young learners.
