Earth Day Special Assembly

To mark the importance of nurturing and protecting our planet, Salwan Junior School organized a vibrant Earth Day Special Assembly. The assembly aimed to instill environmental consciousness among students through music, drama, dance, and collective pledges.

The event commenced with a soulful Opening Poem recited by Nushka, celebrating the beauty of nature — fresh air, blooming flowers, flowing rivers, and bright sunshine — and reminding everyone of their duty to preserve these gifts.

The emcees Divyansh and Nushka warmly welcomed everyone, highlighting the significance of Earth Day and encouraging small daily actions to protect the environment.

The audience was then treated to a melodious choir performance, where students sang a heart-touching song reflecting love and respect for Mother Earth. Their sweet voices echoed the message of environmental stewardship.

The highlight of the assembly was a compelling play titled “Earth’s Plea: A Story of Change”, performed by the young artists:

  • Jashvik Kaur as Mother Earth,
  • Arnav Singh as Sam (the careless boy),
  • Innaya Sharma as Mia (the responsible girl),
  • Aradhya Arora as River,
  • Shivansh Kawatra as Tree,
  • Dev Vats as Sun,
  • Ridhima Singh as Wind,
  • Aahaan Gupta and Paviksha Bhatia representing Wildlife.

The play showcased a deteriorated Earth, suffering due to human negligence, but ended on a hopeful note — showing how collective responsibility and conscious actions can heal the planet. The performances were heartfelt, and the message was loud and clear: “Every small effort counts!”

Following the play, a graceful dance performance captured the rhythm and beauty of nature, with students embodying the swaying trees, blooming flowers, and flowing rivers.

To solidify their commitment, students stood together to take an Earth Day Pledge led by Divyansh:

“I promise to keep my Earth clean,
To save water and keep it green!
I will not waste, I will not litter,
And make my Earth shine and glitter!” Finally Ms. Tajinder Kaur addressed the gathering, praising the students for their efforts and inspiring them to be lifelong guardians of the Earth.

The assembly concluded with cheers, smiles, and a renewed spirit to safeguard our planet for future generations.
