Report on Van Mahotsav Day Celebration

Report on Van Mahotsav Day Celebration

Date: 4.7.25
Venue: School Foyer
Organized by: Class IV
Theme: “Each One, Plant One”

On the occasion of Van Mahotsav Day, the students of Class IV at Salwan Junior School presented a meaningful and engaging special morning assembly focused on environmental conservation, awareness about tree plantation, and sustainability.

The assembly was compered by Shivansh and Anuriti, who warmly welcomed everyone and introduced the theme of the day. The event began with a speech by Anuriti, where she highlighted the origin of Van Mahotsav, started by Dr. K.M. Munshi in 1950, and explained how trees are essential for sustaining life on Earth.

A short video followed, educating the students on what Van Mahotsav is, why it is celebrated, and how individuals can participate in environmental conservation by planting trees.

A beautiful song performance by the choir group added melody to the morning, with lyrics that praised nature and called for action to protect our environment.

One of the most captivating moments of the program was the Nukkad Natak presented by Class IV students. The skit delivered a powerful message in a humorous yet impactful way:

  • The characters included trees, village children, and villagers who showed how modern development like malls and buildings leads to deforestation.
  • The trees, dressed in green dupattas and sunglasses, expressed sadness over being cut for construction.
  • A satirical tone was used to show people choosing malls and WiFi over forests and fresh air.
  • Dialogues like “अब पेड़ कौन लगाए? Hashtag cute tree, hashtag save nature!” reflected how social media culture has replaced real action.
  • In the end, the message was loud and clear: “अगर पेड़ नहीं होंगे, तो जीवन भी नहीं होगा!
(If there are no trees, there will be no life!)

The audience was both entertained and educated, understanding the urgent need to act for the environment.

Next, a sapling planting ceremony was conducted by our respected Principal Ma’am, symbolizing our collective promise to give back to Mother Earth.

Following this, Shivansh led a pledge, where all students raised their right hands and promised to plant and care for trees, reduce plastic use, and respect nature every day.

The event concluded with a motivational address by the Principal Ma’am, who encouraged the students to be lifelong caretakers of the planet and praised their enthusiastic participation.

The assembly ended with the message:
“Each One, Plant One!” and a joyful greeting to all —
“Happy Van Mahotsav!”
