“Freedom has not come easy, it is the sacrifices of our freedom fighters, so never take it for
granted.”
Republic day is the day to show respect and love to all those who sacrificed something for this
independence. A day that marks the birth of Indian Constitution, a day to reminisce the brave
hearts, a day to honour the present brave hearts and inspire living like them.
Keeping the spirit of patriotism high, alive and remembering the golden period of the freedom
struggle in mind, a special assembly was conducted by the students of grade III on Tuesday, 24th
January 2022 to celebrate the 74
th Republic Day in the premises of SJS, Naraina.
The young emcees declared the relevance of the gathering and commenced the programme with
school choir singing, “Hum raahi hai, hum saathi hai, hum veer sipahi hai,” an ode to the Indian
soldiers who relentlessly secure the lives and borders of the Nation. This was followed by weaving
of the past, present and future of India represented through a skit presentation, infused with
elements of Independence struggle, framing of the Constitution, the current situation of
progressive India with technology and sports donning the winning caps and finally striving better
today towards a better, stronger Nation in the future.
Th entire gamut of emotions went from normal to high while witnessing the elements of struggle
faced by martyrs leading to the Bhimrao Ambedkar’s stupendous work to respecting and
understanding the rights and duties of citizens. It was also virtually narrated by the parents and
grandparents of today with comparison of their present with the present of their children, today.
Another audio-visual presentation preceded it, which had the students foreseeing for themselves,
in the realms of futuristic Indian economy. Finally, apprising all with the major Indian states with
varying attires and dialect through a cultural walk to the sporting prowess captured by the young
gymnasts with their yogic asanas, agility and balance through skating and defensive and attacking
moves by the martial arts group. It was a power packed performance by the young sportsmen.
The culmination saw a colourful dance melody performed by the Third graders on a fusion medley
of patriotic songs, with a high note of positivity and growth. The school Principal, Ms. Sonia
Wadhwa applauded the grand efforts of the students and stated some amazing facts on the
National festival. She motivated the young ones to watch the Republic Day parade and motivated
to keep up the spirit of progress and patriotism alive.
A follow up quiz was shared with the kids on Republic Day and its relevance to have a reminder on
the importance of being a republic nation and celebrate the 73 years of completion of the same.
