A captivating and enriching workshop on creative story writing was conducted for the students of Classes IV and V on 2nd May 2025 in the school foyer. The session was led by Ms. Shivani Gupta, in collaboration with Orange Education, aiming to inspire young minds to explore the art of storytelling.
The session began with an engaging activity where students were shown a picture and asked to create their own stories based on it. This opened the gateway to a broader discussion about the various genres of stories such as adventure, fantasy, mystery, and more.
Ms. Gupta emphasized the essential components of a good story —
- A strong beginning and ending,
- A compelling plot,
- Well-developed characters,
- A clear conflict and resolution,
- A distinct theme, and
- An appropriate setting.
The students also learned how important it is to build an emotional connection with the reader through good language and unique ideas. They were encouraged to listen to music, observe pictures, or even roll a dice to stimulate creative thinking.
She shared tips like:

✔️ Don’t be afraid to experiment
The workshop introduced students to the idea that there’s no right or wrong in creative writing, and that every writer has a unique voice. Children were also introduced to www.bookalooza.com, an online platform where they can write and publish their own books — giving wings to their stories!
The workshop concluded on an interactive note, leaving students excited and motivated to become young authors. It was indeed a session full of imagination, learning, and
