Dance is such a medium that is both powerful and holistic. It helps in cultivating physical and mental strength. In a structured environment such as the school curriculum, it can help to teach balance, hard work, and resilience. Through consistent practice, dancers move beyond learning steps, developing life skills such as emotional regulation, teamwork, and the ability to persevere through challenges.

In this age of AI, the students generally have a strong disposition towards gadgets. They sit glued on their couches spending hours immersed in the unreal world of browsing. They are hardly moving or interacting. Addiction makes them add many feathers in their cap of physical and mental problems. How much the parents, school or laws try to break the connection, their chances of succeeding remain bleak.

The hours of toil build in perseverance among the learners. They learn to remain unwavering and consistently strive to achieve their dreams. Even in difficult situations, they do not lose their composure and with complete dedication keep moving forward.

Learning how to Balance

The movements of dance be it folk, classical, tribal or contemporary require the practioner to learn how to balance the body. During the dance practice sessions, the learner needs to maintain core body alignment, be aware of body position and control posture to execute turns, jumps, and still poses. Some dance styles like ballet and contemporary focus heavily on finding a centre of gravity. translating into enhanced stability in daily movements. It refines both fine and gross motor skills by bringing synchronization between arms, legs, and body. The dancer through the body co-ordination learns how to balance things in life too. It helps them to ‘regain their centre’ thus overcoming stressful situations.

Therefore, it is important that we incline them towards an activity that is not only physically stimulating but also ignites their passion in expression of inner feelings and emotions.
